Dr
Hannah Thomas
Hannah Thomas is a Research Fellow at the Queensland Centre for Mental Health Research, and has academic affiliations with both The University of Queensland and QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute. She completed her PhD on adolescent bullying and cyberbullying in 2017. Part of this research program involved the development of the Bullying and Cyberbullying Scale for Adolescents [BCS-A]. Hannah’s continuing interests are in the prevention of adverse childhood experiences to reduce mental and physical illness in the population. She co-led the work to have bullying victimisation included as a risk factor for mental disorders in the Global Burden of Disease Study.
More broadly, Hannah is interested in the prevention of interpersonal violence in childhood and adolescence (e.g., bullying, child maltreatment, domestic violence) as a strategy for reducing mental illness in the population.
